ATG Training
ATG Training
Let me start by telling you a very personal story.
About two years ago I bent over to pick up a set of house keys. I was wearing a rather light backpack. It was an action I’d done thousands of times.
I didn’t feel anything at the time, but a few hours later as I sat at lunch with friends I knew something in my low back felt way off. After another few hours I felt pain as never before. It was a horrible and rough couple of weeks that lead to quite a journey.
Never had back pain before and yet…
Here’s the thing—I’d never had any back pain before.
Never pulled a back muscle.
And in general I think of myself as being in great shape.
Why?
I train across different sports and with both a cardio and strength emphasis. I practice self-care routines, eat a healthy diet, and get plenty of sleep.
I’m no superwoman but heck, I never would have guessed I’d bend over to fetch keys and experience the deep pain I felt.
Looking back—haha—it was a hugely humble and scary time for me.
Yet as pain can often be, it was the start of a journey to REALLY and TRULY address my own movement patterns, my strength gaps, and the mobility losses that had diminished over time.
The funny part, (sure I can laugh about it now) was that I thought I had been addressing all of this. But I’ve come to a different conclusion after this injury.
What My Injury REALLY Taught Me
I had many movement deficits I wasn’t addressing.
Why?
If I’m honest, I’ll admit that being in good enough shape, having good enough movement capacities, and generally being able to have fun doing enough of the physical activities I enjoy had me glossing over and finding work-arounds for the diminished movement habits.
But for me I decided that GOOD ENOUGH isn’t good enough.
And frankly, I never want to have a low back injury again. I want a resilient, fully functional body with capacity that matches my demands!
I want my movement capacity to match my demands!
And I learned the hard way that our movement maps decrease over time when our root causes of dysfunction aren’t properly addressed.
Program I Recommend For Creating Movement Capacity To Meet Your Demands
I’m thrilled to be able to tell you that over the past year I found a program that I use and highly recommend to you. It’s called ATG! So let’s dig in and see if ATG will benefit you as it has me. Or maybe you are NOT the best candidate for the program.
Who Is ATG NOT For?
- People who prefer to overpay for online training courses and personalized, one-on-one guidance from coaches.
- People who prefer to spend hours researching pain relief videos and articles rather than having easy access to an extensive library of video and article resources.
- People who won’t take action to relieve their chronic pain.
- People who don’t believe they can fix their CMP—crappy movement patterns—that keep them suffering and in pain.
- People who prefer to hassle with customer care departments after they purchase a product.
Transformation from the YOU who moves with discomfort and pain to the YOU who moves with ease begins with being honest with yourself about the kind of shape you’re in.
Do you move well and can you do the fun things you enjoy without aches and pains? And I’m not just talking about the BIG sports and hobby goals. I’m also talking about getting out and walking or hiking for as long as you’d like. Or being able to lift your own luggage or grocery bags. Or getting down to the floor and back up again with your grandkids. Ya know, the simple acts of daily living that now cause you pain.
When given the right tools and path, the body knows how to heal itself. How to become more functional. How to feel better, move better, and have more strength and mobility.
That’s what ATG is all about!
From a purely physical standpoint, chronic muscle, joint pain, and limited ranges of motion are always about some misalignment, some physical stress and are coupled with a functional limitation.
These are fixable. Whole-body wellness is the key to longevity and moving well.
But to be successful, you must ask the right questions, enlist the right guides, and remove some of the conscious and unconscious protective barriers so that you can heal.
First, we want to create new habits of moving and balancing the body. These new habits of moving connect the mind and body, align muscles, bones, and joints, improve posture, strength, and flexibility from head to toe.
This transformation has three important steps: awareness, choice, and action.
The awareness part is about understanding where your movement map either isn’t as functional as it once was, or you suffer from chronic aches and pains, so the demands on your body are out of sync with your ability.
Choice boils down to your promise to yourself to find your way out of pain or dysfunction and to regain ability, increasing both mobility and strength.
Always remember that pain is a signal—not a curse to be endured forever.
Action—well, that’s what this is all about.
Action is where the change, the healing, the living better for longer comes into play.
To unlock the full potential for healing and the happiness that comes with a properly functioning body, and truly relieve any chronic pain, people must make a conscious decision to look inside at current and past choices.
It’s important to dig deeper to see how and why that pain may be expressing itself physically. Again, we are not just trying to mask the pain. We are treating the whole body.
And the ATG programs do just that!
